Since its inception in 1995 MSUSND has expanded the knowledge of student visual journalists through meetings with professionals, design projects and the affiliates' annual design contest. Alumni have worked for The Wall Street Journal, Chicago Tribune, The Virginian-Pilot, New Orleans Times-Picayune, Arizona Republic and The Oregonian, among others.
